Buying Used books from Amazon?

Question by : Buying Used books from Amazon?
I want to buy a book from amazon, ive never done this before. How would I generally expect the book to arrive?

The book im trying to buy is very expensive new, but used it’s like $ 12. Its kind of a ‘special edition’. Should I buy it “Very Good” from an Amazon affiliated seller, or “Like New” for the same price, but its a new and unrated person selling it?

Is it possible to email a seller for more information? Im sure these people would answer my question; they have 0 ratings.
Yeah, but the question is: Which one do I buy it from?

I buy a lot of books from Amazon used and they can come in many different shipping methods and in many different conditions. Read the instructions to see if you can return it (you almost always can) and then go for it – heck, it’s only 12 bucks!

I would recommend going with the seller that has a better rating to avoid getting scammed and to ensure safe and prompt delivery. Usually books on amazon arrive in about a week, possibly sooner depending on which shipping you choose. If the seller doesn’t have it in stock then it might take longer. Yes you can email the seller.

Sure, emailing them is a great idea. You can tell if they are good business people by how they reply. I’ve ordered several books from Amazon sellers, and there was never any problem. They send the book themselves, in a variety of interesting packages!

ps Usually I only buy books that have a good description of that specific book.

Well, can you put up with a ‘very good’ condition book instead of a perfect one? Probably! So go with that, as you clearly don’t trust the other seller.

I have bought lots of used books from Amazon – including some from new sellers – and never had any trouble.
